Does KindHealth have a Medical Director?
YES. In Florida, Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers (MMTCs) are required to have a medical director. While the KindHealth clinic is not an MMTC, KindHealth does have a Medical Director. They hold an active, unrestricted license as a physician under Chapter 458, Florida Statutes. The role of the medical director is crucial in overseeing the clinical aspects of recommending cannabis. For this, they have completed the Florida continuing education course and examination. Now that medical marijuana is legal in Florida, we believe this meets the best standard of healthcare practice in our medical marijuana community.
MMTC Medical Directors
The Florida Board of Medicine requires allopathic and osteopathic physicians who choose to serve as medical directors for MMTCs must complete a specific 2-credit course titled “Florida Medical Marijuana Course for MMTC Medical Directors” and pass the post-test during each licensure term. This course addresses the current laws and rules that govern medical directors for MMTCs, ensuring they are compliant with Florida law.
